The Official Five-Level Rating Structure for Responsible Management Evaluation Results

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 SEC 평가방법론(SEC Evaluation Methodology)과 SEC 평가체계(SEC Evaluation Framework)에 따라 도출된 평가결과와 이를 종합하여 산출한 WF책임경영지수(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index, WFSRI)를 바탕으로 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 나타내는 공식 평가등급체계이다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is SEC’s official rating system for representing the level of Responsible Management of corporations and public institutions based on evaluation results derived through the SEC Evaluation Methodology and SEC Evaluation Framework and the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) calculated by integrating those results).

 

 

Ⅰ. SEC WFSRI Rating의 확립

I. Establishment of the SEC WFSRI Rating

SEC평가원(SEC, Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)은 WFSRI와 책임경영 평가결과를 보다 명확하고 이해하기 쉬운 등급으로 제시하기 위하여 SEC WFSRI Rating 체계를 수립하였다.

SEC (Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission) established the SEC WFSRI Rating system to present the WFSRI and Responsible Management evaluation results through clear and understandable rating categories.

SEC WFSRI Rating의 등급체계는 2025년 11월 1일 초안을 마련한 이후 검토와 의견수렴을 거쳐 2025년 12월 26일 최종 확정하였으며, 2026년 1월 1일 공식 공개하였다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating structure was initially prepared on November 1, 2025, finalized on December 26, 2025 following review and consultation, and officially released on January 1, 2026.

확립된 SEC WFSRI Rating은 2026 평가연도 제1회 SEC 기업·공공기관 ESG·WFSRI 평가부터 공식 적용한다.

The established SEC WFSRI Rating was first officially applied to the 1st SEC ESG·WFSRI Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions for the 2026 evaluation year.

 

 

Ⅱ. 5단계 공식 평가등급

II. Official Five-Level Rating Structure

SEC WFSRI Rating은 다음의 5단계 공식 평가등급으로 구성한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating consists of the following five official rating categories.

AAA (Platinum)

AA (Gold)

A (Silver)

BB (Certified)

B (Not Certified)

5개 등급은 하나의 SEC WFSRI Rating 체계 안에서 평가결과의 수준을 단계별로 구분하여 나타낸다.

The five rating categories represent different levels of evaluation results within a single SEC WFSRI Rating system.

AAA를 최상위 등급으로 하여 AA, A, BB, B의 순서로 구성하며, 각 등급은 해당 평가연도의 평가결과와 정해진 기준 및 절차에 따라 부여한다.

AAA is the highest rating, followed by AA, A, BB, and B. Each rating is assigned on the basis of evaluation results for the relevant evaluation year and in accordance with established criteria and procedures.

 

 

Ⅲ. 등급체계의 의미

III. Meaning of the Rating Structure

SEC WFSRI Rating은 단순한 점수나 순위가 아니라 SEC 평가방법론과 SEC 평가체계에 따라 도출되고 정해진 절차를 거쳐 확정된 종합적인 책임경영 평가결과를 등급으로 나타낸다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is not merely a numerical score or ranking. It represents comprehensive Responsible Management evaluation results derived through the SEC Evaluation Methodology and SEC Evaluation Framework and finalized through established procedures.

각 Rating은 특정한 하나의 평가요소만으로 결정하지 않으며, 조직의 책임경영과 관련하여 평가된 다양한 요소와 그 결과를 종합적으로 반영한다.

Each Rating is not determined on the basis of any single evaluation factor but comprehensively reflects the various elements evaluated in relation to an organization’s Responsible Management and the resulting evaluation outcomes.

각 Rating이 나타내는 구체적인 의미와 적용에 관한 사항은 「등급별 의미」에서 제시한다.

The specific meaning and application of each Rating are presented under “Meaning of Each Rating.”

 

 

Ⅳ. Rating과 Ranking의 구분

IV. Distinction between Rating and Ranking

SEC WFSRI Rating과 Ranking은 평가결과를 서로 다른 관점에서 나타내는 개념이다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating and Ranking represent evaluation results from different perspectives.

Rating은 정해진 기준에 따라 평가결과의 수준을 등급으로 나타내는 반면, Ranking은 비교 가능한 조직 또는 집단 안에서 평가결과의 상대적인 위치를 나타내는 분석정보이다.

A Rating represents the level of evaluation results according to established criteria, whereas a Ranking provides analytical information on the relative position of an organization within a comparable group.

따라서 동일한 Rating을 받은 조직이라도 동종업계 또는 비교집단 내 상대적인 위치는 서로 다를 수 있으며, Ranking의 상대적 위치만으로 SEC WFSRI Rating을 결정하지 않는다.

Accordingly, organizations receiving the same Rating may occupy different relative positions within a peer group or comparable group, and the SEC WFSRI Rating is not determined solely by relative Ranking position.

 

 

Ⅴ. Rating 연도표기의 의미

V. Meaning of the Rating Year Designation

SEC WFSRI Rating의 기본 등급체계는 평가연도별 Rating에 공통적으로 적용하며, Rating의 연도표기는 해당 Rating이 적용되는 평가연도를 식별하기 위한 공식 표기이다.

The basic SEC WFSRI Rating structure applies across evaluation years, while the year designation identifies the evaluation year to which a particular Rating applies.

예를 들어 SEC WFSRI Rating 2026은 2026 평가연도에 적용되는 SEC WFSRI Rating을 의미한다.

For example, SEC WFSRI Rating 2026 refers to the SEC WFSRI Rating applied to the 2026 evaluation year.

따라서 SEC WFSRI Rating을 확인하거나 서로 다른 연도의 Rating을 비교할 때에는 해당 Rating의 평가연도를 함께 확인할 필요가 있다.

Accordingly, when reviewing an SEC WFSRI Rating or comparing Ratings across different years, the relevant evaluation year needs to be considered.

연도별 Rating을 비교하는 경우에는 평가대상과 평가환경 및 평가기준의 변경 여부 등 연도 간 비교가능성에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요소를 함께 고려한다.

When comparing Ratings across years, factors that may affect cross-year comparability, including changes in the organizations evaluated, the evaluation environment, and evaluation criteria, are considered together.

 

 

Ⅵ. 등급체계의 운영과 발전

VI. Operation and Development of the Rating Structure

SEC평가원은 SEC 평가체계의 발전과 평가환경의 변화, 국제적 정합성 및 운영상 필요 등을 고려하여 정해진 절차에 따라 SEC WFSRI Rating 체계와 운영기준을 지속적으로 검토하고 고도화한다.

SEC continuously reviews and advances the SEC WFSRI Rating structure and operational standards through established procedures, taking into account developments in the SEC Evaluation Framework, changes in the evaluation environment, international alignment, and operational requirements.

Rating 체계 또는 운영기준을 개정하는 경우에는 해당 평가연도에 적용되는 기준을 명확하게 관리하여 평가결과의 일관성과 신뢰성을 유지한다.

Where the Rating structure or operational standards are revised, the criteria applicable to the relevant evaluation year are clearly managed to maintain the consistency and reliability of evaluation results.
